Question about the Public's Choice competition

F: What is the Public's Choice competition?

A: In the Public's Choice competition, you have the chance, in addition to the non-public evaluation by a jury of experts, to have your work publicly rated by visitors to the website as well as other participants, via a live ranking system. The precondition is that you have agreed to take part in the Public's Choice competition.

F: I want/do not want to take part in the Public's Choice competition. How does that work?

A: During the registration process, you will be asked if you want your competition submissions to take part in the Public's Choice competition. If you agree, you tick the box next to »Ich nehme teil« (I take part). After the participation fee has been received, your photos are activated and become visible in the current monthly overview (month of the upload), and are open for rating.

If you do not want to take part in the Public's Choice competition, you tick the box next to »Ich nehme nicht teil« (I don't take part). Once the participation fee has been received, your photos become activated for the competition, but not for the Public's Choice ranking. The submissions to the competition are then not publicly visible.

F: How does the voting work?

A: Each visitor to the www.heartbeatofnature.com website has a maximum of 3 votes per month that he/she can give as they like. A registration is not required to do so. Voting is done with the heart button located beneath each competition entry. It is up to each voter to decide when during the competition to place his/her vote. Each competition submission can only receive one vote per person – it is not possible for one person to give 2 or more votes to the same picture. Once a vote has been placed, it can not be changed.

All the votes will be counted. They decide the placement of both the monthly Public's Choice ranking and the placement in the race for the overall Public's Choice win. Consequently, it is also possible to vote for older competition submissions from previous months. This does not have any influence on already finalized monthly rankings, but the vote is added to the overall ranking. Voting ends at midnight on 30.06.2016 when the competition is over.

F: How up-to-date in the Public's Choice ranking?

A: Registered votes are automatically added to the Public's Choice ranking, with only a minimal delay in real time.
